“The time came when the risk to remain tight in a bud

was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

-Anais Nin

my approach

I specialize in helping people to shed old patterns of overthinking, self-criticism, and self-doubt. Clients tell me that after our work they leave feeling confident, grounded, and calm. I also provide crucial space for therapists/trainees looking for a place to take off their "therapist hat" and settle in for that long journey into themselves.

I find that my work usually builds on a foundation of mindfulness skills (nonjudgmental awareness of the present moment - so much harder than it sounds!) but can incorporate EMDR, IFS, CBT, and more. I’m familiar with the full alphabet soup of clinical approaches (I’m open to anything with a strong evidence-base) but these are just different routes to access the same essential place. We will move towards what matters to you from whatever approach feels right to you, because there are countless ways to do this right.

COLLABORATIVE

I’ll meet you where you are and work hard to find the goals that are truly meaningful to you. Together we will find the strategies that fit your unique style and use them in ways that make sense to you.

My style of therapy is…

NON-JUDGMENTAL

We will find creative ways to harness the power of being exactly who and how you are (it’s there!). You will learn to shed shame and turn towards the obstacles that emerge with curiosity and compassion.

PRAGMATIC

Sometimes we’ll delve fearlessly into the deep, and other times we will script how to say no to your boss, draft the email that says what you really mean, or hash out a concrete solution to a pressing and thorny problem.

FLEXIBLE

I’m familiar with the full alphabet soup of clinical approaches (CBT, EMDR, and IFS are favorites) but these are just different doors to the same room. I’ll adapt to whatever works best to help you move towards your goals.

Change can be uncomfortable,

but so is staying stuck.
