Therapy for Therapists and Trainees

Therapy and coaching for therapists and trainees can provide time and space to reflect on how your work impacts your self and how your self may be impacting your work.

Therapists and trainees can use therapy and coaching as an act of commitment to self-care; an opportunity to more deeply understand boundaries, limits, and assumptions and how they evolved; or a space to process all that builds up in a busy life focused on the needs of others.

Some therapists and trainees may just need support for all the normal challenges of life but feel uncomfortable shifting to the client’s seat or reaching out to a peer for help. I have worked with therapists struggling to navigate personal crises and professional challenges, and I encourage you to open yourself to experiencing the relief and connection you offer others every day.

Whether you feel you meet diagnostic criteria and want to work with your insurance for support or you simply want to invest in a process of self discovery outside the limitations of insurance, the work of self is how we as therapists maintain and refine the tools of our trade. We know that doctors need doctors and dentists need dentists. Why wouldn’t therapists need therapists?

Don’t let worry hold you back - if you’re wondering whether this might be helpful for you, reach out and let’s talk it through.

An important point of clarification is that I do not offer supervision hours for licensure: the focus of therapy and coachingfor therapists is to more deeply understand yourself. We may discuss client-related concerns but primarily through the lens of personal impact and as a point of entry for self-exploration.
